Flixonase

fluticasone propionate

Product Overview

Flixonase contains a medicine called fluticasone propionate. This belongs to a group of medicines called steroids (also called ‘corticosteroids’). Steroids work by reducing inflammation. Fluticasone propionate can be given as an aqueous nasal spray or as Nasule Drops. Flixonase aqueous nasal spray is used to prevent and treat inflammation in the lining of the nose (rhinitis) due to seasonal allergies, such as hay fever and year round (perennial) allergies, such as animal allergies. Flixonase aqueous nasal spray reduces swelling and irritation in the nose which helps to relieve the symptoms of itching, sneezing and a blocked or runny nose. Flixonase Nasule Drops are provided in small plastic containers (Nasules) and are used to treat nasal polyps and symptoms associated with nasal obstruction.

Adults and children over 4 years of age can use Flixonase aqueous nasal spray, while Flixonase Nasule Drops is for children over 16 years of age and adults.

Be careful not to get Flixonase Nasule Drops in your eyes. If you do, rinse them with water immediately.

Care should be taken with where steroids are used and for how long they are used.
