What is flu?

Seasonal influenza (flu) is a highly contagious illness which affects the airways. It occurs every year during the winter months, and can be a serious threat to your health.

Influenza can cause the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Myalgia (muscle pain)
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Weakness

Influenza can be transmitted person-to-person from coughs, sneezes or direct contact.
