How does BLENREP work?
BLENREP is a targeted cancer therapy known as an antibody-drug conjugate. It combines two components that work together to find and destroy myeloma cells:
- Belantamab is a monoclonal antibody that sticks to a protein called BCMA (B-cell maturation antigen) found on multiple myeloma cells. This helps the medicine get to the right place in the body and stick to the myeloma cell.
- Mafodotin, an anticancer substance that can kill multiple myeloma cells.
What is given in combination with BLENREP?
BLENREP can be given in two combinations
- Blenrep, in combination with Bortezomib and Dexamethasone (BVd).
OR
- Blenrep, in combination with Pomalidomide and Dexamethasone (BPd).
